Sidehill Screens are typically used when solids are easily separated from liquids and where the separated solids slide easily. Wastewater or slurry flows into the headbox where it then overflows a distribution weir onto a parabolic wedge wire screen filter surface. The filter surface is positioned at a steeply sloped angle providing an effective means of quickly stripping off liquid and allowing the solids to slide off the bottom of the screen.
JWC Environmental offers two Sidehill Screens: the SHS and SHP.
Featuring a simple design, the IPEC SHS Sidehill Screen (or parabolic screen) is an excellent choice for static dewatering screen applications. With no motors or moving parts, the Sidehill Screen lets gravity do the work as effluent flows down the screening media. It can separate solids from liquids down to 0.002” (0.05 mm) depending on the influent and requirements of the process.
The SHP series uses pressurized, incoming feed combined with an oscillating spray system to deliver a higher capture rate for recovery of fine solids.
Our Sidehill Screens can be fully customized for a variety of industrial applications such as:
